Drawing from kiriko, the Japanese art of cut glass, KINJO's processing gives Flex Glass Tumbler its sharp, faceted geometry while preserving a delicate drinking edge. The result brings the visual precision of cut glass to a material that bends instead of breaks.

Decades in the Making

Founded in Yao, Osaka in 1936, KINJO spent decades developing rubber components for everything from rice cookers to swimming caps worn by Olympic swimmers. Flex Glass Tumbler turns that largely invisible expertise into something designed to be seen.

It followed 10 years of experimentation with silicone rubber, pursuing something rarely associated with the material: the transparency and precision needed to give silicone the appearance of glass.

Its intricate faceted geometry is built directly into the metal mold, whose detailed surface is worked by craftspeople before Flex Glass Tumbler is molded under pressure and inspected. The pattern isn't decoration applied afterward. The form is created in the silicone itself.
