Putting a key on a key ring shouldn't hurt.
Traditional split rings make you pry apart two tightly sprung layers just to get a key between them. Painless Key Ring changes the geometry instead. Its continuous wave shape gives the key an easier point of entry, letting you slide it onto the ring without forcing your fingernail between the metal.
To remove a key, lightly lift the end of the ring and guide it back around.

At just 3.0g, Painless Key Ring weighs roughly half as much as a conventional key ring of comparable size. At only 0.8mm thick, it adds little weight or bulk to the keys you already carry.
Made from high-tension stainless spring steel, Painless Key Ring has a tensile strength of 1,750 MPa, compared with 800 MPa for the conventional key ring tested by the maker.
That strength matters when thicker keys are added. The material flexes to accommodate them, then returns to its original shape instead of staying stretched open.

The design was inspired by the coiled wave spring, an industrial compression spring used in advanced applications including aerospace equipment and high-speed rail.
